About Me
|
Hello. My name is Walter and I live in Wellington, New Zealand. I am 75 years of age and I was born in Yorkshire in
England. During the second world war I served in the Royal Air Force as a wireless operator Air gunner. I served in India and Burma for five years and then returned to England after the war was over. Unfortunately I still had itchy feet and I joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force and so I came to New Zealand. During my contract I was stationed in Fiji and there developed a love for White sands, palm trees, soft warm winds and tropical evenings.
After I finished my contract I stayed in New Zealand and worked for the Meterorological Service until my retirement at the age of 64.

Me and my Family

I am married and I have four children, three boys and one girl. My eldest son lives in Sydney Australia, is married and has two children, a boy and a girl. He is 45. My daughter lives at home is 43 years old and works at the Wellington zoo as a keeper specialising in birds and bats. She is single. My second son lives in Wellington is married and has three children two boys and a girl and my youngest son also lives in Wellington district and is married with two children
My wife was also born in Yorkshire in England and we were married in 1953

More about Me
|
I have travelled extensively around the world visiting many places and living in some of them. I am not tied to any hobby but I will try my hand at anything. I have tried wood carving and taught the art of stained glass for a while. As for sport. when I was much more limber than I am now I played soccer, cricket, squash, badminton, but my great love was sailing. I loved sailing anything from 13 foot dinghys to 35 foot keelerrs. I am not a fisherman, fish seem to know when I am on the other end of the line and avoid it like the plague. I am glad really for I would hate to catch them
